“Like that matters? You hear about this chick or not?”
“Not from those circles,” Dwight said finally. “Sounds a little like Duke’s new girl.”
“She’s with Crocker?!”
Damn, and Jordan had thought she might have taste.

“Are you tracking them?” Jordan asked. “Or do I have to put a tail on her myself?”
“Don’t. Look, you said she was going to Claire’s? I’m nearby. I’ll swing by, check her out.”
“You’d better. When Crocker goes off, we need to know.”
“I’ll handle it, Jordan.”
Dwight hung up and rubbed his nose, then checked to make sure his crossbow was within reach in his truck. Jordan had a short fuse and a long love affair with paranoia — bit better safe than sorry. . . .
