"It does if you do it right," Claire said bluntly. She leaned forward in her seat. "Octavia, from what you've told me, you've been trying not to grieve since you were sixteen. You've been putting so much energy into holding it back that you're not feeling your other feelings fully, either. It's hurting you, and I'd guess it's probably hurting the people you love, too."
