OOC: let me tell you about my boat
Sep. 12th, 2019 11:00 amBecause "he lives on a boat" is terribly vague, an infopost about Duke's boat:
This is what the Cape Rouge looks like from the outside:

"Rust bucket" is in fact not inaccurate.
It's a 145' former fishing trawler, industrial and ugly as all get out. It looks like it might fall apart or sink at any moment. It has a couple different outer deck levels, usually cluttered with crates and very miscellaneous outdoor furniture. And occasional laundry lines. Look, it's not like he's got a dryer in there.
Duke spends a not insignificant amount of his free time just kind of chilling on the deck of the boat. It's basically his front yard. Posts set on the deck are generally going to be open for random interaction (and always labelled either way), and accessible via dock or sea!
The inside of the Cape Rouge looks like this:

"Who knew Duke could decorate?" — actual canon reaction to the inside of Duke's boat
It's spacious and warm and lined in teak, and full of randomset dressing knick-knacks from his world travels. There's an office with a giant blackboard for his conspiracy theories, multiple seating areas, and a fairly ridiculous number of small antique lamps. There are skylights. Do you see skylights in the deck images? I do not see skylights in the deck images. And yet.
There's space enough below decks for at least three grown-ass adults to live comfortably, so Duke may or may not at some point offer a spare bedroom to someone on the island. We'll see.

There's also a big ass industrial hold, which canonically can double as a brig if necessary. Chains optional.
There are any number of secret passages, hiding places, and escape routes all over the boat, bow to stern. And so many weapons. Bludgeons, blades, firearms, probably explosives of some sort. Duke is definitely a "pistol taped under the table" kind of guy.
So there you go. A quick and dirty visual reference for Duke's boat. Woo!
